About
Artist Bio
C11 Visual Arts is the creative venture of Corey Dziadzio (b. 1995), a Boston-based photographer and mixed-media artist.
A recipient of the 2024 Mass Cultural Council Artist Grant and an international exhibitor, his work explores themes of contradiction and ambiguity within the confines of self-awareness and perception.
He draws from his unique upbringing, paired with his professional career as a Data Consultant, to blend analytical rigor with an empathetic lens into his conceptual approach, self described as "anecdotal empiricism".
As his practice expands and evolves, he is now experimenting with photo-sculptures, additional conceptual abstraction and immersive art installations.
Artist Statement
Between reality and perception lies a fragile, tethered line—one that bends and distorts.
I am a photographer and mixed-media artist whose work explores the reality-altering nature of perception and consciousness. Rooted in a protected adolescence where I was shielded from the reality of close family struggles with addiction, I grew up in an environment crafted by altered and edited perceptions, often at odds with the truth. This experience cultivated a fascination with how the mind shapes our understanding of the world.
Through abstract photography, experimental analog techniques, and controlled scene constructions, I create cinematic works that focus on how we see, rather than just what we see. I often subvert traditional photographic processes to produce surreal or heightened realities—images that feel simultaneously familiar and disorienting. Additionally, my education and career in data analytics informs my conceptual approach. By analyzing patterns, structures, and systems in my professional work, I apply a similar lens to my artistic practice—deconstructing perception into fragments and examining how individual elements create a cohesive, yet often deceptive, whole.
Moving forward, my work seeks to push the boundaries of photographic and mixed-media practices, inviting introspection and creating immersive spaces where perception and “reality” are challenged.
