About
Artist Bio
C11 Visual Arts is the creative venture of Corey Dziadzio (b. 1995), a Boston-based photographer and mixed-media artist.
Corey’s artistic practice is intertwined with his professional career in data consulting, where his analytical mindset informs how he engages with patterns, systems, and human behavior. This balance of structure and introspection reflects his self-described approach, “anecdotal empiricism.”
A recipient of the 2024 Mass Cultural Council Artist Grant, Corey has exhibited internationally and continues to explore the boundaries of perception and consciousness in his work. When not creating, he immerses himself in art exhibits, films, and literature, exploring the ways storytelling and visual media intertwine to shape perspectives.
Artist Statement
Between reality and perception lies a fragile, tethered line—one that bends and distorts, revealing the illusory nature of what we think we know.
I am a photographer and mixed-media artist whose work explores the gap between the conscious experience and the unseen mechanisms that construct it. Influenced by a sheltered adolescence where I was shielded from the reality of close family struggles with addiction, I grew up in a world curated by edited and altered perceptions. This upbringing shaped my fascination with how the mind fabricates meaning and reality—a process as selective as it is elusive.
My work interrogates the narratives we create to make sense of an overwhelming, complex world. Like the brain’s mechanism to discard vast amounts of sensory data in favor of a simplified "user interface," I am compelled to examine the spaces between what is perceived, what is hidden, and what is deliberately ignored.
Through abstract photography, experimental analog techniques, and controlled scene constructions, I create works that challenge assumptions of reality. By subverting traditional photographic processes, I aim to produce images that feel simultaneously familiar and disorienting—visual metaphors for the brain's filtered and fragmented understanding of existence. My approach is informed by my background in data analytics, where I deconstruct systems and patterns to reveal hidden structures, echoing how the subconscious mind processes and shapes experience beneath the threshold of awareness.
Moving forward, my practice seeks to create immersive experiences that challenge viewers to question the reality they perceive, inviting introspection about the illusions of consciousness.
